*Nick Mundy, a writer, comedian and superfan of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, was surprised with the gift of a lifetime when Johnson took part in an elaborate skit that saw him officiate Mundy’s wedding.
A longtime fan of Johnson, Mundy developed a “bromance” with the movie star after interviewing him over the years. So when Johnson was asked to participate in Mundy’s big day, he was so enthused by the idea that he even got ordained by the state of California so that he could officiate the wedding himself.
In an elaborate skit for YouTube Channel Screen Junkies, Mundy is sent to interview Johnson about his latest action movie, “San Andreas.” Mundy expected to have an interview, including a video and a comedy skit with The Rock for the movie.
However, when Johnson and his team cancelled the interview, Mundy had no idea it was because they were preparing to send him off to his own wedding.
Johnson showed up wearing a tuxedo and announcing “I’ve got a little surprise for you. Just when you thought the day was going to be terrible, it actually is going to be the greatest day of your life,” he then led Mundy in to his wedding to his fiancée Dilara.
While officiating, Johnson jokingly plugged his highly anticipated movie.
“Nothing is more powerful than your union, carries more force than a bolt of lightning or even the world’s largest earthquake, much like the ones you’ll see in ‘San Andreas,’” he said.
After the ceremony, Johnson took to Twitter to say:
“Coolest day ever and we pulled off the near impossible. Not only an epic surprise, but I officially became ordained to legally marry them. I’m now (available) for weddings.”
“San Andreas” hits theaters May 29.
