We Remember: Actor/Comedian Reynaldo Rey Dies at 75

*Actor/comic Reynaldo Rey has died. He was 75

Rey passed away Thursday morning in Los Angeles from complications of a stroke.

His manager, Vanzil Burke, told CNN that Rey suffered the stroke a year ago,

Rey was known for his stand up career as well as acting. He was seen in movies such as “Friday,” “White Men Can’t Jump,” “Do the Right Thing” and “Harlem Nights” among others.  Rey also appeared in the TV series “227,” ”Sister, Sister” and “The Parent ‘Hood.”

According to a biography on Rey’s website, the actor was born in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. He was reportedly a member of the Harlem Theater Group, and appeared in more than 50 films.

Rey is survived by his wife, Evelyn, daughter Harla Major and sons Golden Rey and Todd Murphy, as well as his 96-year old mother, Lillian Murray.
