*Widow of rapper Chinx Drugz, Janelli Pickens, opened up to local news station WABC-TV in New York about her family’s loss and her husband’s murder.
Investigators are searching for a gunman who shot the Queens-born rapper in his chest multiple times while he was in his car on early Sunday morning.
The couple had three children together — two daughters, age 14 and 11 and a 4-year-old son. His wife would have been in the car with him that Saturday night if she hadn’t changed her mind.
“It is a hard time, we are going through a lot,” Pickens said. “It’s a very devastating situation, his kids are greatly affected by all this.”
“They don’t quite understand, but it will hit them soon,” she added. “For his son, who doesn’t understand why God’s angels have come and taken his father, he just wants to know when he’s going to bring him back, and it’s hard, it’s very hard. A lot of people don’t understand that this was his life, was his family.”
