*Following an incriminating Instagram video of reality star Peter Thomas getting cozy and being flirty with an attractive barfly, his wife and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, Cynthia Bailey, says there’s no truth to rumors of a divorce.
47-year-old Bailey addressed the scandal during an interview with V-103’s Ryan Cameron. Unsurprisingly, she says when she saw the video she dealt with her hubby and that she’s sticking with him, despite his flirtatious nature.
“Well, I wasn’t there. I saw the video like everyone else,” Cynthia said during the interview. “It seemed like he was kissing some identified woman on her cheek. You know, when I saw the video I thought it was inappropriate. I mean, it’s unfortunate that you have people filming you with phones everywhere you go when you’re on a reality show, but it is what it is. I don’t know if it’s grounds for divorce.”
Bailey went on to say that people in her circle felt that the video was “harmless.”
“I had…you know people looked at it that I knew, and they were like ‘I don’t really see nothing. I think it’s pretty harmless.’ But I looked at it and was like, well, I mean it’s inappropriate. It wasn’t like I’m ready to like you know ready to do a ‘Waiting To Exhale.’ I’m not gonna set his clothes on fire, but we’re going to talk about these things. The neck thing was definitely a little weird.”
Bailey said she handled the situation accordingly, and despite public opinion about Peter’s wandering eye, the situation is hardly worth leaving him over.
“When I looked at the video, I definitely felt like it was inappropriate. Again, I didn’t feel like ‘Oh my God, let me call my lawyer and divorce him.’”
In a statement to Us Weekly, Bailey said:
“My marriage is not perfect,” Bailey tells Us. “We’re going to deal with this issue as husband and wife.”
“Most marriages go through their share of challenges, and ups and downs. Peter and I are no exception. I felt the video was inappropriate, and embarrassing,” she added. “I expect him to accept full accountability for his actions. We are coming up on our five-year wedding anniversary and we will deal with this situation as husband and wife. I appreciate everyone’s well wishes, and concerns.”
As for Thomas’ apology video, the Bailey had this to say:
“That video is definitely reflective of his personality. He will just do a video and put it out there. He’s pretty direct and that’s what it is.”
Many speculated that the woman in the video is former Housewife Lisa Wu, but Bailey explained that she doesn’t know the woman.
“Actually, it’s someone that comes to the bar. I don’t know her, but Peter knows her,” Cynthia said.
