*The Parlor in West Hollywood was packed last Tuesday as hundreds came out to support the premiere of Centric’s new docu-series “Being.” The show take an intimate looks in the lives of your favorite actors, musicians, and influencers.
This season’s stars hit the red carpet including actor Tyrese Gibson, Inspirational Speaker Iyanla Vanzant, singers K. Michelle, Tamela Mann and Kem. Meanwhile, V. Bozeman and Toccara Jones were among many celebrities that came out to support the show.
EURweb Associate Kiki Ayers caught up with the stars to find out what people would learn about them through this project. Vanzant said that what people would be surprised to learn about her is that she’s a regular person.
“I do my own laundry, I cook my own food. I go to Wal-Mart,” she said. “Who I am in front of the camera is who I am all the time.”
Tyrese Gibson shared that people would learn that he tries his best to maintain as much of his privacy as he can.
“My privacy is all I own,” he said. “Most of us that stand for something don’t wake up everyday trying to figure out how we can be more famous. We look at fame connected it to this God given stage and platform to be able to motivate and inspire.
“BEING” is a one-hour documentary series that highlights the careers of entertainers across all platforms. It aims to target figures that have grown from hard environments and overcame challenges. It tells a story of those that have beat the odds to inspire an audience and their supporters. The project shows each individuals journey to where they are today and working towards. The first episode, which stars K. Michelle premiered this past Saturday, June 6.
