*Ice Cube and Charlie Day are in talks with New Line Cinema to star in “Fist Fight,” a comedy from writers Van Robichaux and Evan Susser.
According to Deadline, the pic is in the tone of ’80s cult hit “Three O’Clock High,” but a grown-up version: Day plays a mild-mannered English teacher who is put to the test when a colleague (Ice Cube) who thinks he is trying to get him fired challenges him to a fist fight after school.
Production is aiming for a September start.
In the meantime, Ice Cube is producing his N.W.A biopic “Straight Outta Compton,” in theaters August 14. He has “Ride Along 2” coming out on MLK Weekend and just began work on “Barbershop 3.”
