*A licensing company for Jimi Hendrix merchandise has filed a lawsuit demanding the return of a guitar that’s headed for the auction block, reports TMZ.

The instrument, once used by the rock legend, was left to his father following the musician’s death in 1970 but it has since changed hands and the current owner is looking to auction it off.

When staff at Experience Hendrix, LLC were contacted by auction bosses to authenticate the guitar, they alleged the company is the rightful owner and are now preparing to sue for its return.

They also want $750,000 in damages, according to TMZ.
