*Malaak Compton-Rock is gunning for a giant payday from her divorce from Chris Rock.
TheGrio.com reports the demand stems from Compton-Rock’s desire to continue living the lifestyle she had grown accustomed to while being Rock’s wife. As a result, she feels she’s entitled to a good bit of the comedian’s $70 million worth, in light of her sacrificing her career to be come a stay-at-home mom for their two kids, Lola Simone and Zahra Savannah, after marrying Rock in 1996.
In addition to her kids, much of Compton-Rock’s time and money is occupied with her charity group, The Angel Rock Project. For all of this, court filings reveal that Compton-Rock is demanding pay “commensurate with the marital standard of living.”
As for the couple’s pre-nup agreement, it expired under a sunset clause, TheGrio notes, adding that it will be more likely that Compton-Rock and her ex will “have to take their bank account battle to court.”
Compton-Rock’s demands mark the latest development since Rock filed for divorce in December of 2014 amid rumors he started dating his “Top Five” co-star, actress Rosario Dawson.
