Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Put Ex-Nanny’s Lawsuit to Bed

mariah-carey-nick-cannon*Mariah Carey won’t have to worry about a lawsuit filed against her by her former nanny any longer.

Page Six reports the singer has settled the suit, which was filed by Simonette DaCosta against her and her then-husband Nick Cannon. Despite court records confirming the suit has been settled, the amount and terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

DaCosta’s lawsuit, which was filed in a Manhattan federal-court in January, stemmed from claims she made that Carey and Cannon forced her to go back and forth between working weekly 84 hour-shifts that were spread over seven 12-hour days or 120 hours from doing her job in 24-hour shifts over five days.

DaCosta, who claimed that Carey and Cannon treated her like a slave, went on to say that she she was paid $3,000 to $3,600 twice a month from October 2013 through late January 2014 before she was fired for being “too affectionate” with the pair’s toddler twins.
