Min. Louis Farrakhan: ‘We Need to Put the American Flag Down’ (LISTEN)

Louis Farrakhan*Minister Louis Farrakhan and Rush Limbaugh may not share much in common, but the Nation of Islam leader looks to be stirring the pot to make a recent prediction from Limbaugh come true.

Baltimore radio station WMAL cites comments Limbaugh made Tuesday (June 23) involving an attack on the American flag in the wake of calls for the Confederate flag to be removed from public buildings.

“And I’ll make another prediction to you,” Limbaugh said. “The next flag that will come under assault, and it will not be long, is the American flag. Do not look at me that way. It makes perfect sense. If you take a look at the timeline of progressive events, their speed and rapidity with which the left is conducting this assault on all of these American traditions and institutions, if you don’t think the American flag’s in their crosshairs down the road, you had better stop and reconsider.”

On Wednesday (June 24), Farrakhan went in on the U.S. flag while speaking at the Metropolitan AME Church in Washington, D.C.

“We need to put the American flag down,” he told the crowd after letting them know that America doesn’t care about the nine people killed in a historic black Charleston church.

“What flag do the police have?” Farrakhan wondered. “What flag flies over the ‘non-Justice’ Department? What flag flies over the White House where a black man lives that’s called nigger every day?” His angry comments were met with wild cheers and applause.”

“We fought in wars under that flag,” he continued. “And came back and were hung and were murdered and brutalized under that flag.”

Lowering his voice, Farrakhan said, “Well now, “we’re gonna pull the flag down.,” while going on to tell the audience it’s “as easy as pulling your pants down.”

“We want justice under that flag,” he added. “What the hell is the use of us paying allegiance to a flag under which we get no justice?”

The tragedy in Charleston was also mentioned by former New Black Panther boss Malik Zulu Shabazz, who suggested that blacks in Charleston need to “finish the mission” started by Denmark Vesey. The Examiner notes that Vesey was an abolitionist and former slave who led a failed slave revolt in 1822.

“Denmark Vesey had a plan to kill all the slave masters in the state,” Shabazz said Wednesday. “Denmark Vesey had a plan to kill every last one of them and kill all of their (expletive deleted) families.”

“We’re out of Denmark Veseys,” Shabazz added. “And we need some new Denmark Veseys today.” It’s enough to make one think liberals really do want a second civil war in America.
