Mopreme Shakur Recalls Tupac’s Beef With the Hughes Brothers

tupac-shakur*The beef between Tupac Shakur and film directors Albert and Allen Hughes is a well-known footnote in the history of the legendary rapper’s life.

For those who don’t know, Shakur was on board with appearing in the Hughes’ classic film “Menace II Society” as Caine’s Muslim comrade Sharif. Around that same time, Shakur was shooting another popular movie, “Poetic Justice,” which featured Janet Jackson.

In an interview with Vlad TV, Shakur’s stepbrother Mopreme, that scenario didn’t go over well with the Hughes brothers as they “started to get fly” and disrespected Shakur for arriving late to rehearsal. And the rest, they say, is history.

“I know they got punched several times and one of them ran. That’s all I know,” Mopreme told Vlad TV.

The beef between Shakur and the Hughes brothers ultimately resulted in the siblings taking Shakur to court. To hear Mopreme tell it, “‘Pac was not having it at all.”
