*Donald Trump announced today that he is officially running for president in 2016, which puts the network airing his show “Celebrity Apprentice” in a pickle – as networks are required to give equal screen time to all presidential candidates.

NBC stopped short of saying, “you’re fired,” but the Peacock is huddling up to “re-evaluate” his situation in light of the new development.

“We will re-evaluate Trump’s role as host of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ should it become necessary, as we are committed to this franchise,” the network said in a statement.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a start date on the upcoming eighth season (which NBC announced in February) would rely on Trump’s status as a candidate.

He previously considered a presidential run in 2011. At the time, NBC did not shelve “Celebrity Apprentice” when he began flirting with a run, but ultimately, Trump opted against it.
