No Nick Fury in ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ Samuel L. Jackson Confirms

*Nick Fury might have popped up during “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” but don’t expect him to pop up again in “Captain America: Civil War,” according to the actor who plays him.

And he’s not happy.

“I’m not in Captain America 3,” Samuel L. Jackson told Collider. “I can’t figure that out, but I’m not. I guess I’m still out there, trying to figure out what happened to SHIELD and who these other people are.”

SPOILER ALERT

Fury appeared to be working at the Avengers’ new digs at the end of “Age of Ultron,” and with almost all of the Avengers set to appear in “Civil War,” it is odd that Fury would not join them.

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Graeme McMillan, “It’s possible that Marvel is looking to keep Jackson in hold for bigger projects — perhaps the two-part ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ movies due in 2018 and 2019 — as the actor has, as he’s pointed out in February, only two movies left on his current contract. Although, as he told Collider, he’d like to change that.

“I’m looking for a contract extension right now, yeah,” he told the website. “I’m looking to re-up.”
