*Starz saw the record breaking ratings for the Season 2 premiere of “Power” and quickly moved to renew the series for a third season.

The cable channel announced Wednesday that the New York-based drama starring Omari Hardwick will be back, as will creator, executive producer and showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh alongside executive producers Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, Randall Emmett and newly elevated Gary Lennon.

“I am thrilled to learn that season three of ‘Power’ has been officially ordered by Starz,” states Agboh. “It is an honor to work with Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik, Ken Segna and the whole Starz team. Their support has been steadfast from the beginning, and I look forward to a bright future together.”

“’Power’ is a project I have been passionate about since day one,” said 50 Cent, who also stars in the series. “I am glad the audience loves the show as much as we do, and we are just getting started.”

Production on the third season is scheduled to begin in September 2015 at the series’ home base at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn. A 10-episode run has been ordered.

As previously reported, the second season premiere of “Power” logged 1.43 million Live+SD viewers during its Saturday, June 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT premiere, making it the most ever for a STARZ Original series season premiere episode.
