*Sunday night the 5th annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards went down on A&E.

With “Empire” being all the rage, a lot of folks thought it was a forgone conclusion that it would win best drama series. Well, that didn’t happen, but the next best thing did. Taraji P. Henson won for best actress in a drama series. So congrats Taraji. In fact, you can check out her acceptance speech below.

Meanwhile, “Bessie” starring Queen Latifah won best movie made for television. The producer of “Bessie” accepted the award by stating it was a project they had for Queen Latifah for 22 years.

Also, David Oyelowo keeps marching towards superstar status with a best actor in a movie or limited series win for “Nightingale.”

And in a category where viewers could vote on their favorite binge-watching show via Twitter, “The Walking Dead” beat out “Orange is the New Black.”
