*The L.A. County D.A. has charged The Game with one count of “making criminal threats” to an officer during a basketball game in L.A back in March.

The Game, real name Jayceon Taylor, says he never threatened to kill officer Onyebuchi Awaji, and that the punch was in self-defense because Awaji claimed to have a gun.

Although it’s unclear what sparked the altercation, Awaji and Game got into a fight on the court during a Pro-Am basketball game. Awaji claims the rapper punched him in the face and threatened to kill him. Now, the L.A. County D.A. has slapped him with a felony charge, with one count of “making criminal threats” for allegedly saying “I’m going to kill you” verbatim to the officer.

He wasn’t charged with battery, which would’ve only garnered a misdemeanor offense, as opposed to the felony for threats.

A warrant is now out for The Game’s arrest.

According to TMZ, the rapper denies making the threats and that the cop “insinuated he had a gun in his gym bag.”

Back in March it was reported that he got into an argument with the officer during the game, threatened to kill him, punched him in the face and fled. Cops were called and Awaji filed charges.

Awaji claims he did nothing to instigate a fight before he was assaulted on March 29.

In video of the fight posted online, Game can be seen approaching Awaji and punching him in the face. Watch it below.

Awaji, who was off-duty at the time, has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, alleging the punch may have caused brain damage.

After the initial incident, The Game took to Instagram to announce he would not be participating in another Pro-Am league. (the post has since been removed).

“WE WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING in the #DrewLeague this year due to us & Nike not being able to agree on a certain issue,” The Game said.
