*Long Beach – For the last five years, Pastor Wayne Chaney, First Lady Myesha Chaney and the Antioch Church of Long Beach Family has hosted the annual Long Beach Gospel Fest.
The Long Beach Gospel Fest is the most anticipated inspirational event of the year. The festivalĀ is a joyous celebration of the love and glory of God through music and worship.
The first annual Long Beach Gospel Fest was held on Pine Avenue, Downtown Long Beach.
āMy wife and I, along with the Antioch Church Family, wanted to bring life, hope and inspiration to this region on a massive scale. We also wanted to create a gathering place to host both world-class artists and emerging talent,ā stated Pastor Wayne Chaney.
āOur vision wasnāt to simply throw another fest but to host a true worship service encounter and celebration that would honor God and forever alter the climate of our region for good,ā said Pastor Wayne Chaney.
The 5th Annual Long Beach Gospel Fest was held at the Marina Green Park, scorching Sunday, July 19th. Thousands of worshipers gathered for an afternoon of music, fun and engaging festivities-a vendor marketplace offered food, merchandise, and other family friendly activities; featuring some of the genreās most regarded and accomplished artists.
The weather would change tremendously as the day progressed. People from the South understood and appreciated the humidity during the Gospel Fest. This yearās fest felt like an old fashioned Tent Revival with a modern twist-alfresco.
Pastor Chaney preached another powerful and memorable sermon to the thousands of worshipers gathered at this relaxing, seaside sanctuary. Ministers were available to meet people where they are, in their time of need-to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
This is His gracious promise: āYe shall have a song, as in the nightā¦ And the Lord shall cause glorious voices to be heardā (Isaiah 30:29-30).
āLet all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout {literally āsingā} for joy, because thou defendest themā (Psalms 5:10-11).
Attendees enjoyed the amazing talents of emerging gospel artists Jessica Reedy, Brian Courtney Wilson, Gerald & Tammi Haddon, Janice Gaines, Royce Lovett, KP, Jai, Deon Kipping, Psalms, Myron Butler, Kierra Sheard and Jonathan Nelson.
The weather wasnāt the only cause for the heat wave. The Red Carpet Arrival featured some top notched celebrities in attendance for the Long Beach Gospel Fest. Patrick Faucette (The Have and Have Nots), Dorien Wilson (In the Cut), Judge Kevin Ross, Marcello Thedford (Criminal Minds, Rizzoli & Isles, and Sons of Anarchy), Trina McGee (Boy Meets World, Girl Meets World, and In the Cut), Kayla Brianna (Meet the Smiths, Recording Artist), Gwendolyn Osborne Smith (TV Personality & Producer-Meet the Smiths, Host-Price is Right), and Monique Green (Meet the Smiths), just to name a few.
Mother Nature decided to get in on the action. The skies opened so that the Gospel Fest could be Blessed with some Libations. This was in the form of light showers or ārefreshing, cooling waters.ā
Due to the inclement weather the festival was relocated to the Bishop Noel Jonesās City of Refuge in Gardena. Entertainment was provided by multi-award winning gospel artists Tasha Cobb, Deitrick Haddon and Erica Campbell. Iām sure that you can imagine what a roof raising experience this had to be. This concluded the 5th Annual Long Beach Gospel Fest on a spiritually high note.
