*Birdman is coming for Jay Z in court.

According to TMZ, Birdman’s record label Cash Money is suing Hov’s streaming music service Tidal for 50 million, claiming its streaming of songs from Lil Wayne’s album “FWA” is illegal. Cash Money claims it has exclusive rights to Wayne’s music.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Cash Money claims Jay Z’s fledgling company is now resorting to “a desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service.”

Tidal claims Cash Money does not have a exclusive lock on Wayne, and that the rapper specifically gave it the right to stream his music, in return for part ownership in the company.

Cash Money begs to differ, and the company quotes portions of its contract with Lil Wayne in the lawsuit. The contract specifically says Wayne does not have the power to license his music to anyone else.

Cash Money also takes the opportunity to dis “FWA,” saying it got “tepid reviews” and could hurt Cash Money’s attempts to exploit Wayne’s music.
