The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the charges come after the car Antoine Watkins was allegedly driving crashed into and killed 13-month-old Dillan Harris. Media sources note that Harris was struck by Watkins’ vehicle around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday (July 11) while the one-year-old was waiting to go to the beach with his mother and two older sisters.

In addition to Harris, Watkins’ crimes include shooting Capo (born Marvin Carr) in his back and hip before fleeing the scene in his car. The 27-year-old rapper, who is the cousin of fellow Chi-town rhymester Chief Keef, was ultimately pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

In addition to the murder charge, the Sun-Tribune notes that Watkins has since been charged with one misdemeanor count of fleeing or attempting to elude police, failure to carry or display a driver’s license and operating a vehicle without insurance.

The 21-year-old appeared in bond court on Monday (July 13).

In honor of baby Harris, Chief Keef announced over the weekend that he is planning to hold a benefit concert for the young boy. Despite the good intentions, the “I Don’t Like” entertainer will not be present at the show in light of “outstanding warrants his legal team is addressing,” according to the Chicago Tribune.

According to reports, Chief Keef, who currently lives in Los Angeles, is reportedly “heartbroken and appalled” by Harris and Capo’s deaths. Soon after, the benefit concert was announced.

Although he will not be able to physically be on hand for the show, Chief Keef’s presence will be felt in the form of a hologram that will appear during the performance from a soundstage in Beverly Hills, CA. The concert, the rapper said, will be his way of addressing what he called the “out of control situation” in Chicago.

Referencing the Fourth of July weekend, the Tribune stated that at least 55 people were shot throughout several Chicago neighborhoods during this time, with nearly a dozen of the victims succumbing to their injuries.
