*Chris Brown’s aunt was held at gunpoint and locked in a closet while thieves broke into the singer’s home early this morning (July 15), TMZ reports.
Police tell TMZ that three armed men deliberately targeted Chris Brown’s San Fernando Valley residence. They broke in around 2 a.m. PST, held a gun to his aunt’s face and ordered her into a closet.
They proceeded to rob the home, snatching money and other items, then fled by the time the police responded to Brown’s aunt’s 911 call.
According to TMZ, Chris Brown was at Hollywood nightclub the Argyle when the robbery occurred. He came to the home several hours later to check on his aunt and then left, Officer Liliana Preciado told The AP.
Brown’s aunt was not hurt. Police didn’t know how long she was in the closet.
Detectives were canvassing the neighborhood around the gated property at the end of a secluded street in the San Fernando Valley and looking for surveillance camera footage.
“We’re trying to see if there’s any video evidence that might have picked up the suspects,” Lt. Kirk Kelley told reporters at the scene.
Investigators have not released descriptions of the suspects, who were armed with handguns and wore bandanas around their faces, police said.
