Chris Tucker and Netflix Sued Over Upcoming Standup Special

chris-tucker*Days before his first-ever standup special hits Netflix, Chris Tucker is being sued over the program in question.

According to Variety, Tucker’s attorney Marty Singer confirmed the new lawsuit. In the legal filing, comedian Terry Hodges claims that he hasn’t been paid $66,000 in fees accrued from years of editing, writing, acting and producing work for the special.

TMZ referenced claims from Hodges in which he stated that he hasn’t been hasn’t been regularly paid since 2011. In addition, Hodges claims he stared working on Tucker’s special in 2008.

Although there was no comment from Netflix at this time regarding the lawsuit, Singer responded via a statement, saying:

“This lawsuit is absurd and completely without merit. We fully expect this case to be thrown out by the court.”

Scheduled to begin streaming tomorrow, Friday (July 10) on Netflix, Tucker’s standup special was filmed in his hometown of Atlanta.
