Jackie Jackson Only Sibling Collecting Money from Michael’s Estate

Jackie Jackson, Michael Jackson

*Jermaine, Tito, Marlon, and Jackie Jackson continue to perform and tour together as The Jacksons, but only one of the brothers reaps rewards from Michael Jackson’s estate.

As you know, Michael left his estate to his mother and children. Jackie is the only Jackson 5 member who receives a monthly stipend from Michael’s estate. Every thirty days Jackie gets a check for $6,033, sent to his company called Siggy Music. He’s been receiving payouts since December 2011. According to Showbiz411, he’s on the books as a liaison between the estate and the brothers.

Was Jackie Michael’s favorite? He made many appearances in court in 2005 to show support for Michael.

In 2009, he, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon starred in their brief reality series, “The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty.” In 2012, they began their first tour since the end of the Victory Tour in 1984. The four brothers continue to tour and recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Jackson 5.

Jackie’s third wife, Emily Besselink, welcomed twin boys, River and Jaylen, last December.

In related news, the American Federation of Musicians is suing Sony Music Entertainment for allegedly violating its contract in the Michael Jackson documentary “This Is It.”

According to Variety, the suit alleges that the artists were misled to record work for “This Is It” with the understanding that they were working on a phonographic record instead of a film score.

The union alleges that the Sound Recording Labor Agreement, which Sony signed, only covers recording sessions for records – and prohibits recording film scores.

Sony allegedly refused to sign a letter allowing them to use the AFM Motion Picture Agreement for “This Is It.” As a result, musicians have been unable to collect residuals on the film.

The suit also charges Sony with refusing to make new payments on Pitbull’s 2012 version of Michael Jackson’s “Bad” and sampling of Jackson songs like “Billie Jean” and “Man in the Mirror” in “This Is It.”

The AFM is seeking breach of contract damages, including the payment of wages and benefits owned to the musicians.
