*Filmmaker Judd Apatow is not surprised by the 2005 deposition that revealed Bill Cosby’s admission to obtaining Quaaludes for the purposes of drugging women he wanted to have sex with, but he has been baffled by the continued support of Cosby’s real wife Camille, and former TV wife Phylicia Rashad, in the face of his numerous allegations.

Apatow has called on the two women to shift their allegiance, saying it shouldn’t take Cosby’s admission of guilt when 40 different women are leveling the same allegation.

“I don’t think there is anything new here,” Apatow told Esquire, reacting to Monday’s release of Cosby’s 2005 deposition, where he admits to drugging at least one woman. “It is only new to people who didn’t believe an enormous amount of women who stated clearly that he drugged them. We shouldn’t need Bill Cosby to admit it to believe 40 people who were victimized by him. I am sure there are many victims who have not come forward.

“Maybe now more people in show business and all around our country will stand up and tell the people he attacked that we support you and believe you. I also hope Camille Cosby and Phylicia Rashad will now stand with the victims and not with their attacker.”

Apatow previously referred to Cosby as “a serial rapist.”
