Russell Wilson Reportedly Offered $21Milion Multi-Year Contract Extension

russell wilson

*The Seattle Seahawks, according to Pro Football Talk, has offered quarterback Russell Wilson a contract worth a whopping $21 million a year. Specifics of the contract haven’t been released, but the report says it would be over a 4-6 year period.

That oughta make girlfriend Ciara, er, we mean Russell very happy. 🙂 The reality is that Wilson, a third round pick from Wisconsin in 2012, would be the NFL’s third-highest paid quarterback behind Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers ($22 million per season) and Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger ($21.85 million).

Naturally, the Seahawks want to get Wilson to sign on the dotted line ASAP before training camp opens this Thursday to avoid one less distraction. But one less distraction for who? The 2013 Super Bowl winner has already said he would play out the final year of his contract and has yet to agree to Seattle’s latest offer.

Oh it must be nice to be Russell Wilson because if the two sides can’t come to an agreement, Seattle has the option of placing a franchise tag on QB next year which means he would still get a super large payday … something like $20 million for one season.

Dang, think about it. He’s already got the gorgeous Ciara. And now he’s being offered $21 million multi-year contract and if he doesn’t take it, he’ll still get get the franchise tag at $20 million (for a year)?!

Dude’s literally got a winning hand.
