*Viewers are about to see a different side of the normally even-keeled Shaunie O’Neal when she and Tami Roman join VH1’s “Basketball Wives LA,” premiering its 4th season July 12 at 9 p.m.
O’Neal, who created and starred in the original Miami-based series, sat down with Roman to discuss their move to the west coast cast.
“It feels more natural to be in LA because this is where I’m from. This is where I live. You know, home base,” she says. “These girls are not my girls.”
Roman says the LA girls had O’Neal “popping off” for the very first time on reality television.
“When I tell you I ain’t never seen Shaunie go in on somebody like that…When y’all see this moment here…This moment right here? Okay. Baby that’s gon be the all-time favorite,” said Tami. “And I loved it. All I needed was my cheesecake and my steak wrapped up so I could go back to the room and just eat and talk about it. And laugh about it all night long.”
Shaunie and Tami made it clear that while they’re new to the Los Angeles cast, they aren’t the “newbies.” They say they’re bringing some flavor to the cast to help the “carbon copies” who are “whack” and “flat.”
