Whoopi: Bill Cosby is ‘Still Innocent Until Proven Guilty’; Raven-Symone Needs More Proof

*Despite Bill Cosby’s admission in a 2005 deposition that he obtained quaaludes to give to women before sex and actually gave the sedative to one woman before having sex with her, Whoopi Goldberg is still reserving judgment on the entertainer.

“This is my opinion and in America, still–I know it’s a shock–but you actually were innocent until proven guilty; he has not been proven a rapist,” she said Tuesday on ABC’s “The View.”

Goldberg was reiterating a stance she’s held since last winter when more than a dozen women came forward to accuse Cosby of sexual abuse or rape.

“We’ll see what happens as more information comes out, people will make judgments,” Goldberg said. “I don’t like snap judgments because I’ve had snap judgments made on me, so I’m very, very careful…save your texts, save your nasty comments. I don’t care.”

“The View” co-host Raven-Symone, who starred with Cosby on “The Cosby Show,” says she doesn’t like talking about the allegations because he helped launch her career. She added that she’d like more proof before giving her judgment.

Cosby’s 2005 deposition was for a sexual-abuse lawsuit he later settled. The Associated Press went to court to compel the release of the material.
