*Wendy Williams is known to get a reaction out of folks for what she says, but the former radio personality’s daytime talk show is in the line of fire after comments made about singer Ariana Grande.
Media sources report that the hashtag #CancelWendyWilliams started trending on Twitter after social media users caught wind of Williams’ not so flattering commentary on her show about the way Grande looks.
“She’s 21; she’ll forever look 12,” Williams said. “And I don’t mean that in a good way. I mean that in a … you know, it’s nice to look younger than you are, but when you look too young, and then you’re short, she’s only like 4 feet 11! I don’t look at her as like a woman.”
From there it was on as #CancelWendyWilliams began trending Thursday night (Aug. 13). Check out one of many tweets directed at Williams for body shaming Grande:
Basically your saying that you have to be a certain weight, height and look a certain age to be a woman? #CancelWendyWilliamsShow

Being a REAL woman has literally NOTHING to do with your height or the way you look. #CancelWendyWilliamsShow

In addition to calling Williams out for her remarks on Grande, Twitter users highlighted the daytime TV fixture’s history of body shaming younger women.
No wonder people are asking for her show to be canceled. #CancelWendyWilliamsShow pic.twitter.com/QBv5kG0WK1

So what say you? Do you think Williams took it too far with her comments on Grande or is this simply a case of Wendy being Wendy?
