ColorComm C2Miami Conference Honors 7 Media Moguls

*MIAMI, FL – More than 300 multicultural women in media and communications, kicked off the second annual ColorComm Conference (C2Miami)  recently at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, beginning and ending the day with inspiration, wisdom and encouragement from African-American, Latina and Asian-American female media pioneers.  Awardees included (pictured above) Allison J. Davis, Former NBC Executive Producer and a founder of The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ)
Christy Haubegger, Executive, Creative Artists Agency and founder of Latina magazine Viviana Hurtado, Ph.D. Bilingual Journalist and Hispanic Market Strategist Jill Kelly, Chief Communications Officer, DigitasLBi, Michelle Norris, Host and Special Correspondent, NPR
Lisa Garcia Quiroz, Chief Diversity Officer, Time Warner, Inc.
Tiffany Smith-Anoa’I, Senior Vice President, CBS Entertainment and Marvet Britto, President/CEO, The Britto Agency.

C2Miami began with a conversation sponsored by Nielsen, featuring Carol H. Williams, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Carol H. Williams Advertising and Tiffany R. Warren, SVP, Chief Diversity Officer, Omnicom Group and Founder of ADCOLOR who shared their experiences as the only women of color in the workplace at the beginning of their careers. Carol and Tiffany encouraged C2Miami participants to overcome their personal and professional fears and shared advice on how they can add value in the workplace by sharing their unique perspectives as women of color.

Next, C2Miami participants received advice on how to manage their social media presence in a way that is authentic and professional during the Social Media Makeover session sponsored by Weber Shandwick.  In the evening, ColorComm Circle Award honoree Jill Kelly, Chief Communications Officer of Digitas.Bi shared her personal story during a fireside chat with participants sponsored by the Publicis Group.  Keynote speaker Lisa Ling shared how she began her career in journalism, stayed true to her passion for telling the stories about people around the world and advocated for herself as one of the few leading women in prime time TV.
