Donald Sterling Sues TMZ and V. Stiviano Over Recorded Conversation

donald sterling-v. stiviano*More than a year after TMZ posted his infamous racist conversation with V. Stiviano, Donald Sterling is firing back by suing both parties over the recording and publishing of the interaction.

TMZ Sports reports the litigious happy former Los Angeles Clippers owner filed the lawsuit Friday (Aug. 7) in LA. In the suit, Sterling claims Stiviano “surreptitiously” recorded the conversation with him sometime between September 2013 and April 2014.

He goes on to claim that Stiviano or her agents supplied TMZ with the recording, which the site posted on April 25, 2014. In its report, TMZ cited court documents that alluded to accusations Sterling made against TMZ that involved the tabloid news outlet violating the disgraced executive’s privacy rights by publishing the tape. As a result of the violation, Sterling points out that he had been damaged “on a scale of unparalleled and unprecedented magnitude.”

Adding to this are more accusations from Sterling directed at Stiviano and/or TMZ for what the site mentioned as doctoring the contents of the recording., which ultimately resulted in the NBA banning Sterling for life on April 29, 2014.

Fallout from the ban included Sterling and his wife Shelly selling the Clippers to Steve Ballmer for $2 billion.
