*Before she arrives in theaters opposite Don Cheadle in “Miles Ahead” later this year, folks who have paid for Amazon Prime can get to know the work of Emayatzy Corinealdi in “Hand of God,” a drama series from Amazon Studios to begin streaming on the site next week.

Ron Perlman stars as Pernell Harris, a corrupt judge who suffers a breakdown after a tragedy leaves his son in a coma. He comes to believe that God is directing him to seek vigilante justice. Viewers are left to ponder whether this man is crazy, or experiencing true divine intervention.

Corinealdi, who wowed critics as the star of Ava DuVernay’s 2012 film “Middle of Nowhere,” plays a high-end call girl for Judge Harris in “Hand of God,” but her influence in his life extends far beyond her sexual services.

The actress explains below:

All episodes of “Hand of God” will premiere on Sept. 4 for Amazon Prime members at Amazon.com.
