Kelly Osbourne’ Apologizes for Racist Latino Comment in Trump Diss (WATCH)

kelly-osbourne*Tuesday was not a good day for Kelly Osbourne as her attempt to slam Donald Trump royally backfired on her.

Osbourne’s noticeable mistake occurred while she served as a guest co-host on “The View.” As the panel was discussing Trump’s controversial comments on immigration, regular co-host Rosie Perez mentioned that many Latinos in the U.S. agree “that the immigration problem is a problem and it does need to be addressed and it does need to be fixed.”

After Perez added to her point, saying Trump making “those racist comments” doesn’t help, Osbourne attempted to chime in but came up short.

“If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?” Osbourne said. From there, the scene was filled with an awkward silence and a gasp of shock that led to Perez debating Osbourne’ comment as the other co-hosts tried their best to clarify what Osbourne was trying to get across.

“Oh, I didn’t mean it like that, come on,” Osbourne told Perez. “No, I would never mean it like that.”

By the end of the show, Perez and Osbourne had made peace. Perez apologized to Osbourne for “being overly sensitive.” Osbourne responded, telling Perez her apology was unnecessary and that she “had every right” to be upset.

“No, Kelly Osbourne is on our side and I was sensitive,” Perez stated. “My disdain should go to only Donald Trump, so I’m sorry, darling.”

“No, you don’t have to apologize to me,” Osbourne said. “I love you, Rosie.”

Realizing how much of a mistake she made with her comment, Osbourne issued the following statement to the Huffington Post via her representative:

I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT. I whole-hearted f**ked up today. I don’t want to bulls**t anyone with lame excuses. Although, I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words. I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. By the way I clean my own f**king toilets.”

For her part, Perez continued diffusing the situation with tweeting the following comment to Osbourne:

While Perez and Osbourne were able to move past what happened, folks on social media were not as forgiving. Hence the following comments that came regarding Osbourne and her remarks on “The View”:
