*Veteran music video director Joseph Kahn, who just picked up an MTV Video Music Award for helming Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” video, is speaking out after NPR criticized his use of white actors in the pop star’s new video for “Wildest Dreams,” which is set in Africa.
Kahn, who has also worked with Janet Jackson, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and DMX, took to Twitter to point out that producer Jill Hardin, who worked on the video, “is a (super hot) black woman FYI.”

NPR’s article, “Taylor Swift Is Dreaming Of A Very White Africa,” has gone viral. (Read here.) Writers Viviane Rutabingwa and James Kassaga Arinaitwe rip Swift and the depiction of Africa in “Wildest Dreams.”
“We are shocked to think that in 2015, Taylor Swift, her record label and her video production group would think it was OK to film a video that presents a glamorous version of the white colonial fantasy of Africa.”
