Madame Tussauds Set To Remove Nicki Minaj Wax Figure

Nicki Minaj wax figure

*Amid fan backlash and the never-ending perverts who have descended upon Madam Tussauds Las Vegas to cop a feel of the racy Nicki Minaj wax figure, the museum has decided to remove it, and there’s been no word, so far, if there are plans to replace or simply repose it, BET reports.

The wax figure was inspired by Minaj’s “Anaconda” music video, and fans and colleagues have wondered why she signed off on this particular pose to represent her image. Madam Tussauds attempted to step up security around the exhibit, ensuring visitors could not come in contact with their idol. In a statement, the museum said that it was taking “immediate steps to ensure more staff are present in this area and that the set around this particular figure is redesigned so that a picture like this cannot be taken again.”

Their enhanced security efforts proved to be ineffective, as Saint Heron reported on Tuesday, so the decision has been made to remove Nicki’s provocative wax statue altogether.

*Controversial rapper Azealia Banks was the first to warn how fans would respond to the wax statue, and she was right. Banks Tweeted:

“All ppl are gonna do is go up to that statue and take pictures shoving their crotch in her face and putting their crotch on her butt,” she concluded. “That’s not nice. I don’t feel good about that. But if u like it I love it.”

She added:

“I would complain and ask for a do-over. That’s such underhanded shade.”

Minaj has remained indifferent to fans using her likeness to simulate sex. She called the statue “iconic,” and often laughed off images of fans molesting her statue.  So far, she has not responded to news of her statue being removed.
