Nicki Minaj Wax Figure Getting Makeover After Fans Pressure Museum

Nicki Minaj wax figure

*Since the launch of Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” inspired wax figure at Madame Tussauds earlier this month, perverted fans of the rapper have been inclined to pose obscenely with the figure in photos shared on social media.

The figure, which Nicki called “iconic,” features Minaj on all fours and accented by a jungle theme. It was unveiled in Las Vegas to much fanfare and criticism from fans and colleagues who deem the figure just as disrespecting and degrading as those mimicking sex acts on it.

As we previously reported, rapper Azealia Banks was the first to predict the public response to Nicki’s wax figure. Earlier this month, Banks tweeted:

“Wow, they finally give nicki minaj a wax figure and it’s a statue of her bent over on all fours…… White people yo….” She later added, “As much as that woman has accomplished, they had to put her on all fours… Why not standing up with a mic in her hand??? I would complain and ask for a do-over. That’s such underhanded shade. Martha Stewart’s most iconic moment was when she went to jail but they didn’t put her wax figure in a jail uniform… Come on y’all… All ppl are gonna do is go up to that statue and take pictures shoving their crotch in her face and putting their crotch on her butt. That’s not nice. I don’t feel good about that. But if u like it I love it.”

While Nicki may not agree that she’s worthy of being immortalized standing upright, she has encouraged fans to stop wildin’ out on the exhibit. As Rolling Out reports, she retweeted a fan’s tweet to the museum of an image featuring a man with his face all up in her wax bum. “Srsly they need to stop.” read the caption.

Madame Tussaud released a statement in response to the photo, saying:

“We have been made aware of the inappropriate photograph that was taken at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, involving Nicki Minaj’s new wax figure… It is unfortunate that this visitor decided to behave so inappropriately and we apologize for any offense this has caused.”

Despite enhancing security around the figure, many fans continue to treat it like a porn prop, so Madame Tussauds announced plans to redesign the wax figure in an effort to end the molestation once and for all.

“We are taking immediate steps to ensure more staff are present in this area and that the set around this particular figure is redesigned so that a picture like this cannot be taken again.”

In a follow-up tweet, Minaj thanked her fans for making enough of a fuss to inspire the redesign effort:

“I don’t think u understand how I’m laughing right now. Like rlly Hittin ppl up, getting answers and s–t like wtf” adding, “Like I’m off in my own lil world n yall on here gettin results like how r u so cute?”
