Obamas on ‘Black-ish?’ + Riley Curry Does the Nae Nae [Watch]

Anthony Anderson

*President Obama and first lady Michelle may appear on an upcoming episode of “Blackish,” so says series star Anthony Anderson who tells E! News that he’s working on securing the POTUS and his wife for a guest appearance on his hit ABC sitcom.

“We’re petitioning to get Pres. Obama on the show,” Anderson said. “They watch the show. They love it. We know them so we’ve been dealing with them and their people and hopefully they’ll say yes.”

The Emmy nominated actor told the New York Times when he learned the first family were fans. “I was at the White House about a month ago and met the president and first lady, and the first thing out of their mouths was, ‘We love Black-ish,'” he said. “So that came as a shock.”

MTV reports that in April, Anderson and his on-screen wife, Tracee Ellis Ross, attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where President Obama gave a shout-out to the program during his speech, joking, “It’s a great show. But I have to give ABC fair warning. Being ’Black-ish’ only makes you popular so long, trust me. There’s a shelf life to that thing.”

In future episodes, “Black-ish” plans to incorporate some Obama humor. “So we’re writing little jokes about the first family in our show because of that,” Anderson said.

Black-ish airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Meanwhile, you probably won’t catch Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry on the series anytime soon, but Anderson may want to consider allowing his precocious daughter Riley Curry to steal a scene, or two. The 3-year-old is back at showing off her Nae Nae dance skills in a video with dad and Jeremy Lin, check it out below. Back in July, mother Aysha posted video on Instagram of Riley turning up to  Silento’s “Watch Me.”
