*En route to appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Viola Davis was hit by a bus while texting on her phone.

Thankfully, it was all a bit for the show.

The Emmy winner participated in a segment to illustrate the dangers of walking and texting, a topic discussed on Tuesday’s broadcast.

“This is alarming: The number of people getting injured using their phones while they are walking is skyrocketing,” Kimmel told his audience. “Thanks to cell phones, you are far more likely to get in an accident on foot than you have been in the past.”

After the bit, Davis eventually made her way on stage to discuss her historic Emmy win, which made her the first African-American woman to win in the Best Actress in a Drama category.

“I just thought that moment was bigger than me, it was bigger than just an actress winning in that category,” said Davis. “It was the first time an African-American woman had won in that category.”

The “How to Get Away With Murder” star also revealed that she had prepared two speeches before she ultimately went with the Harriet Tubman quote.

“There were two quotes I could go with,” Davis said. “I said, if I go with Harriet Tubman, they may think it’s militant. Or I could go with the other quote but they might be confused. Let me go militant.”
