You might be scratching your head because it was just reported last week that the 2016 ESSENCE Festival was being held in Durban, South Africa. And you are absolutely correct. That’s the plan. It will be held in October, 2016.
However, ESSENCE never said they were NOT having it in New Orleans, either. Hmm, is this a case of mind games or one of those “reading is fundamental” issues at play?
OK, whatever, the bottom line is that the 2016 Essence Festival will also be held stateside in New Orleans.
Yes, the dates for “party with a purpose” were announced today and here they are: Thursday, June 30 to Sunday, July 3.
And as far as more info about the highly anticipated event, a press release from ESSENCE PR maven, Sheila Harris, sent to the Electronic Urban Report/EUR, says to “stay tuned for headliner announcements and ticket information—they’re coming soon!”
