A$AP Rocky Slams at Ex-Manager’s $800k Lawsuit, Files Countersuit

ASAP Rocky

*A$AP Rocky is being sued by his former manager who is accusing the rapper of screwing him out of 850k in commission and breaching their contract.

thejasminebrand reports that music manager Geno Smith entered into an agreement with Rocky back in November 2011 to be his exclusive personal manager. His suit alleges that he worked for the rapper for 2 years, and in his capacity he advised and negotiated record and publishing deals, production of music, public relations, merchandising deals, sponsorship and agency negotiations.

Smith claims their deal required A$AP to pay him 15% of the rapper’s gross income along with a monthly fee for his services. Geno claims Rocky failed to provide him with statements about his income, and now he wants back monthly commission pay of over 300k along with an additional 550k in unpaid fees resulting from deals he secured for the rapper.

Smith is suing for breach of contact, claiming he has experienced great economic injury as a result of the dissolution of their business relationship.

On October 2nd, Rocky fired back at his former manager’s allegations, denying he owes him money and rejecting Geno’s claim that he breached their contract. He filed a countersuit in which he explains that once his career began to rise – he had to bring on a 2nd manager to help Smith. This led to Geno’s deal being re-negotiated. The new agreement had the 2 managers splitting the commission, Rocky maintains that Smith was paid all money owed when they parted ways in 2014.

A$AP is also accusing Smith of providing others with information about his finances, personal life and his business. Rocky wants a judge to review the case and agree that Geno’s lawsuit be tossed and that he doesn’t owe his former manager a dime from future income.
