Adele Teases New Album Details in Passionate Letter

adele

*It’s been almost five years since Adele’s last album and fans eager for her third received a treat from the singer Wednesday when she posted a personal statement on her social media accounts that teased about that album, apparently titled “25,” which she calls a “make-up record” about her journey to adulthood and self-acceptance.

Wednesday’s statement followed a teaser promo for a new Adele song that aired last weekend during Britain’s “The X-Factor.”

Adele wrote:

“My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record,” she wrote. “I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. But I haven’t got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What’s done is done. Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties. Teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully fledged adult, I made the decision to go into becoming who I’m going to be forever without a removal van full of my old junk.”

She also apologized for the lateness of the album, saying, “I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened.”

You can check out the entire heartfelt letter below.

In 2011, Adele dropped her sophomore album, “21,” which sold more than 11 million copies in the U.S. alone and is the biggest-selling record this decade. The album swept the 2012 Grammy Awards, winning album of the year and song of the year for “Rolling in the Deep.” The singer has been pretty much mum since, despite singing “Skyfall,” the theme for the 2012 James Bond of the same name. That same year she gave birth to a son with boyfriend Simon Konecki. According to Billboard, Adele’s “25” album is slated to be released on November 20.

Meanwhile, on Friday (10-23-15), Adele released her first single/video from 25, “Hello,” which shut down the internet (so to speak). In just 24 hours it’s already received over 27 MILLION hits/plays. If you somehow haven’t experienced the vid, featuring actor Tristan Wilds, check it out below.
