Biz Markie Stars in Lucky Charms Commercial, Adele Teases New Song

Adele, Biz Markie

Just a Friend” is a track that continues to pay off for rapper Biz Markie, who resurrects his classic 80’s hit for the new Lucky Charms commercial about “marshmallow only” cereal boxes. Lucky Charms is offering a new contest in which winners have the chance at winning boxes of cereal that have only marshmallows in them.

Marshmallow only Lucky Charms sounds deliciously delightful for fans of the nostalgic breakfast cereal, bad news is – General Mills is only cranking out 10 boxes. The brand hired Biz Markie to rework his biggest hit to help push the contest. Sample lyrics: “Have you ever bought a bowl and wished it could be free of all the oats, just marshmallows only?”

As for how to get your hands on a box of the sugary goods, just snap a selfie of yourself holding an imaginary box of Lucky Charms Marshmallow Only and post it to Twitter or Instagram before Oct. 18 with the hashtag #Lucky10Sweepstakes.

Meanwhile, Adele fans were teased with a snippet of a new song Sunday night when it played during a commercial break of Britain’s “The X Factor.” As The Grio notes, it was only 30 seconds worth of music, but it was enough to send the Internet crazy for the clip that featured just a black screen, some simple piano chords and Adele’s distinguishable voice singing the following lines, as the lyrics flashed.

“Hello, it’s me / I was wondering if after all these years / you’d like to meet to go over everything / they say that time’s supposed to heal ya / but I ain’t done much healing …”

While there has been no official confirmation that this is a forthcoming single or that her long-awaited album will be dropping soon, fans and celebrities alike have been tweeting their support and anticipation for Adele’s return. Her 2008 debut, “19,” sold an estimated 7 million copies worldwide, and her sophomore album, “21,” recently became the best-selling UK album of the millennium.
