*Friday night (10-09-15) at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood was the gathering place for an elite group of music executives and taste makers that support the music industry.

“Jammin'” Jay Michaels hosted the event and luminaries receiving honors from the Living Legends Foundation included Ruben Rodriguez, Atty. Kendall Minter, Troy Carter, Jeffrey Harleston, Big Boy (92.3 FM Los Angeles), Vicki Mack and Claude Lataillade, Gwendolyn Quinn, Don “D. C.” Curry, Dr. Logan H. Westbrooks, Carter Broadcasting Group, Troy Carter and James Leach.

Collectively the honorees have navigated a legion of stars to success, manned the airwaves, negotiated contracts and rights for performers, publishers and the business affairs of individuals and companies who impacted the entertainment world around the globe.

The 19th Living Legends Awards Show & Dinner was co-chaired by Brenda Andrews, King, Pat Shields and Jon Platt, the new CEO of Warner Chappell.

EURweb’s Lee Bailey was last year’s Digital Visionary honoree and this year he surprised the crowd at the end of the festive evening by introducing a hilarious spoof salute from Bow Legged Lou.

The member of Full Force was in rare form teasing the audience with news that honorees Ruben Rodriguez and Kendall Minter were brothers separated from birth.  Lou then proceeded with a man on the street style interview of unsuspecting passengers in a New York subway who gave candid, clueless and comical salutations to the honorees.

Watch:

Of course all jokes were put aside when Bow Legged Lou gave props to Mr. Rodriguez & Mr. Minter for their career achievements, as well as all of the Living Legends.

His tribute was footnoted by  The Paul Anthony Foundation, in honor of his brother Paul’s cancer recovery and their family’s mission to support others battling the disease.

“I am so grateful that Pat Shields & The Living Legends staff allowed me to present that crazy but fun extra special video tribute to Ruben Rodriguez & Kendall Minter,” says Lou George a/k/a “Bowlegged Lou.”

“Though I could not make the great event in person, I’m glad that my legendary buddy Lee Bailey of EURweb.com fame, amongst other entertainment accomplishments such as RadioScope & more, accepted my request of him to introduce the crazy special Bowlegged video.

“I wanted to personally show Full Force’s appreciation to Ruben & Kendall for not only being integral in our career but being a twin force for so many other folk’s careers too. I thank our creative videographer,  Xanda Tonge too.”

Bowlegged Lou’s SHAMELESS PLUG: Today our new single with multi new mixes comes out today on iTunes, Amazon & all digital outlets. (New Video on Vevo as well as attached here in this article) Performed by Full Force featuring Raphael Saadiq & Shanice. All proceeds go to our cancer champion brother, Paul Anthony’s foundation.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch …

Also during the Living Legends gala African Ancestry (which conducts serious DNA testing) announced that Living Legends Foundation Chair David C. Linton’s DNA was linked to roots in Sierra Lionne and that his people were among those on the Amistad.

The Living Legends Foundation hosted a weekend long celebration, which concluded with the annual Music Legends & Icons Picnic, where an A-list of attendees enjoyed fellowship and shared memories of their great contributions in the music industry.  Someone said it best then they said that these are the real unsung heroes behind the scenes.

Varnell Johnson is President of the Living Legends Foundation, Inc. and Ray Harris is Founding Chairman, along with C. C. Evans and the late Jerry Boulding.
