In a preview of Monday’s (Nov. 2) episode of “The Real,” Dolezal sits down with the ladies of the show as she chats about her racial identity and her pregnancy. The former Spokane, Washington NAACP chapter president generated headlines for claiming to be black.
During the episode, Love and Dolezal end up arguing as Dolezal voices her opinion on “whiteness.”
“As Dick Gregory says, ‘White is not a race it’s a state of mind,’ and nothing about whiteness describes me,” Dolezal noted.
“Okay, let me tell you something,” Love says.” I’m black. I can’t be you. I can’t reverse myself. Let me tell you, Rachel, if the police stop me…you can throw that off and show that little light, nice, fine hair up under [Loni gesturing to her hair]. You might get away. I may not, I may not even make it in the jail. So it’s a difference.”
Dolezal’s appearance on “The Real” comes amid news that the show has been renewed for two more seasons, as we reported here. Dolezal’s entire interview on “The Real” is set to air Monday.
