*What a man won’t do for his woman. Or rather, ex-woman, if you’re Matt Barnes.
According to the NY Post, Barnes got word about his estranged ex-wife Gloria Govan dating New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher and was not at all happy. So much so that Barnes decided to have a nice long drive (95 miles, to be specific) from the Memphis Grizzlies training camp in Santa Barbara to Los Angeles.
All in the name of crashing Govan’s rendezvous with Fisher at her house on Saturday (Oct. 3).
“Derek was in Gloria’s back yard with about 10 people having a bonfire on Saturday,” the Post reports. “Derek’s separated from his wife and there’s a relationship with Gloria.”
Fisher’s newfound status with Govan comes months after he filed for divorce from his wife in March after 10 years of marriage.
Once Barnes arrived on the scene, it was on and poppin’ as he and Fisher reportedly came to blows.
“Barnes was in Santa Barbara [at Memphis Grizzlies training camp] and heard that Fisher was in his house,” the source told the Post. “He went crazy. He got in his car and went to the house and went after Fisher.”
A different source close to Fisher confirmed that while the fight between him and Barnes did take place, Fisher, who came away with a few scratches, will not press charges.
As for Govan she’s directing her efforts towards filing a restraining order against Barnes.
