Variety reports the company announced plans for the alliance to create a scripted television biopic. Under the working title “Girl From the Hood,” the film will focus on fame, abuse and its aftermath.
Michel’le is no stranger to those elements, considering her rise with classic hit songs (“No More Lies,” “Nicety,” “Keep Watchin,” “Something in My Heart”) and years of abuse while involved in relationships with Dr. Dre and Suge Knight.
Fans can look forward to even more from Michel’le as the wheels are in motion for her and Thinkfactory to work on a documentary centered on the singer’s life, according to Variety.
“I am so excited about my partnership with Thinkfactory Media. For many years I was unwilling to share my personal experiences. I am now ready to open up about my career, relationships and family,” Michel’le said in a statement.
News of Michel’le’s upcoming work with Thinkfactory comes amid the success of the N.W.A. biopic “Straight Outta Compton,” which was co-produced by Dr. Dre.
