NC Lottery Winner’s Fiancé in Jail for 3rd Time This Year

Lamarr Andre McDow and Marie-Holmes

*Despite his fiancée winning $188 million from a lottery in North Carolina, drama with the law continues to follow Lamarr Andre McDow, who found himself in jail for the third time in less than a year on Monday (Oct. 18).

Fox 8 cites a story from WWAY, which reports that McDow, also known as “Hot Sauce,” was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. The station added that a spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office revealed that McDow turned himself in after being indicted on the charge.

He was processed out of the jail a short time later, WWAY notes.

McDow’s latest encounter with the law follows his arrest on heroin charges last November. Marie Holmes, McDow’s fiancée, ended up paying his $3 million bond just a week after she won the lottery, prosecutors said.

McDow’s second arrest happened in July, when he was taken in for violating the terms of his curfew after his release in March. According to Fox 8, deputies smelled marijuana and found a gun that belonged to McDow when they went to get him.

As a result, Holmes and several others in the home were cited for possession. Shortly after, Holmes was released from jail on a $6 million bond.
