Rihanna Talks Casual Sex, Rachel Dolezal, Wanting to Change Chris Brown

*Rihanna appears nude in the November issue of Vanity Fair, and was just as stripped down in her cover interview that touched on a wide range of subjects – from why she briefly took Chris Brown back after he beat her, to supporting Rachel Dolezal’s attempt to pass.

The 27-year-old also revealed that she is so over casual hookups.

“If I wanted to I would completely do that,” Rihanna confessed. “I am going to do what makes me feel happy, what I feel like doing. But that would be empty for me; that to me is a hollow move. I would wake up the next day feeling like s**t.”

As for dating, Rihanna’s aware that people assume she’s dating someone who merely appears in a photograph with her — for example, Drake, Leonardo DiCaprio, Travis Scott, Lewis Hamilton and, as of Tuesday, German soccer star Kevin Trapp.

She says her last real relationship was with Chris Brown in 2012, three years after he assaulted her following a Grammy party in Los Angeles. Rihanna says she gave him a second chance because she felt she was “built to handle s*** like this.”

Rihanna opted to lift a restraining order that was placed on Brown, and went on a jet-ski vacation with him just three weeks after the attack. Rihanna said she thought at the time that she could save him from himself: “Maybe I’m the person who’s almost the guardian angel to this person, to be there when they’re not strong enough, when they’re not understanding the world, when they just need someone to encourage them in a positive way and say the right thing.”

Asked if she thought she could change Brown, Rihanna said, “A hundred percent. I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn’t understand him.”

Rihanna said she’ll care about Breezy “until the day I die,” but the two are no longer friends. “It’s not like we’re enemies. We don’t have much of a relationship now,” she said.

As for things getting so bad between them, Rihanna rationalized, “You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say I’m willing to put up with something, they think less of you.”

Rihanna told Vanity Fair that her number one quality for a boyfriend these days is chivalry.

“They think being a real man is actually being a p**sy, that if you take a chair out for a lady, or you’re nice or even affectionate to your girl in front of your boys, you’re less of a man,” she said. “It’s so sick. They won’t be a gentleman because that makes them appear soft.”

But she won’t settle.

“I will wait forever if I have to … but that’s OK you have to be screwed over enough times to know, but now I’m hoping for more than these guys can actually give.”

As for Rachel Dolezal, Rihanna doesn’t understand why the woman was vilified for choosing to identify as black.

“I think she was a bit of a hero, because she kind of flipped on society a little bit,” Rihanna told Vanity Fair.

“Is it such a horrible thing that she pretended to be black? Black is a great thing, and I think she legit changed people’s perspective a bit and woke people up.”
