Robin Thicke Talks Co-Parenting with Paula Patton

*With no potential hit song on the horizon to follow-up the success of “Blurred Lines,” Robin Thicke is staying relevant by dishing on his relationship status with his ex-wife Paula Patton.

He hit up the clubhouse to chat with Andy Cohen for an episode of “Watch What Happens Live” where he spilled that he and his former love are on the “best of terms.”

“[We’re] on the best terms. The good thing is when you have that long of a friendship and you have a child that you can put first, the most important thing is giving him a healthy, happy life.”

Robin met Paula at the age of 14 in 1991 and they began seriously dating two years later. They were married in 2005, and their son, Julian Fuego Thicke, was born in 2010. Thicke and Patton separated in February 2014, after almost nine years of marriage. In July, Robin released his album “Paula,” dedicated to his estranged wife; begging  her for forgiveness in the track “Get Her Back,” which debuted the same day as his performance at the Billboard Music Awards where he won four awards for “Blurred Lines.”

In October 2014, Paula officially filed for divorce, which was finalized in March. Six months later, Robin maintains that he and Paula remain on good terms for the sake of their son. Andy asked if he regrets releasing an entire album publicly begging Paula to take him back, and Robin admitted to having no regrets.

“You know, as an artist I have no regrets, because as a writer you write what you feel, you have to express yourself and give it away. But, as an entertainer, I felt I should have just given it away for free, instead of promote it or try to make it part of my entertainer’s process.”
