Terrence Howard Repays Rapper Petey Pablo with Role on ‘Empire’

*Who knew Terrence Howard‘s the kind of guy who doesn’t forget an act of kindness.

That’s why you saw rapper Petey Pablo on “Empire” earlier this week. He played Lucious Lyon’s prison buddy. It was a payback.

It seems Howard and the “Freek-A-Leek” rapper ran into each other at the 2005 premiere of “Hustle & Flow,” but the actor lost his wallet before the event.

According to Raleigh, North Carolina’s WRAL TV reports that Pablo — realizing Howard needed some cash — loaned him $200 out of his own pocket. Flash forward a decade later we find the “Empire” star paying back Pablo for his generosity by offering him the opportunity to appear on the hit show, with a reported paycheck of $15,000. Holy Moly!

And of course since Pablo’s rap career is not exactly blazing right now, the North Carolina native would like to flex his acting chops some mo’. He wants more action on “Empire,” so he’s hoping his character will be around for a while.

“I’ve been talking to Terrence and I’m hoping [my character doesn’t] die,” Pablo told WRAL. “Please protect me – don’t kill me.”

Speaking of Petey Pablo, one of our all-time favorite jams is “Freek-A-Leek.” So, if you’re ready to get your freak, er,  groove on, heeeeer’s Petey!
