At the time, things seemed bleak for the couple, with Toya telling Necole Bitchie that her husband was a “different person” as a result of the industry turning its back on him following the K. Michelle drama.
“When I met him, he had a career. He was a self-made guy with his own. And then to fall back into my shadow and then to be known as a “woman beater” it’s kind of a lot.”
Memphitz is said to have resented Toya’s decision to turn down “LAHH ATL” because he wanted to use the platform to defend himself against K. Michelle’s allegations. Now, the estranged couple are making an attempt to repair their relationship, and his reputation, by appearing on BRAVO’s new series “Untying The Knot.”

“I mean, what is going on with my husband, like I said when I spoke on it, is bigger than me,” Toya said in the February 2015 interview. “Micky has been going through something for the last few years since the whole lawsuit thing against his ex [K. Michelle] and Viacom and it really took a toll on him and it caused him to be a different person.”
“I think that, going through all of those things, and having all of that stress and the world looking at you one way as a “woman beater” and person that steals someone’s money. It’s hard for you to get back into your industry when you had a career and not a [just] job and somebody defames your character. I mean, it’s a lot to deal with day to day.”
“Untying The Knot” explores how couples on the verge of divorce handle their breakups. Memphitz and Toya believe the show may help them resolve their issues.
The series premieres November 11th @ 8/9c on BRAVO.
