*Amber Rose‘s “SlutWalk LA” event packed an extra emotional punch as she broke down while discussing and publicly forgiving her ex-husband Wiz Khalifa and former boyfriend Kanye West.
The “SlutWalk,” as we reported, which took place in Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday (Oct. 3), attracted a slew of supporters who were on hand to join Rose in bringing women’s inequality to the forefront with protesting against slut-shaming and rape culture, Vibe reports.
Sharing her personal experience, Rose touched on being slut shamed by Khalifa and West, whose “30 showers” comment was brought up.
“Unfortunately, I was extremely slut shamed. I was called ‘nothing but a stripper.’ [He said] why would he ever be interested in me, I’m just a bald-head stripper from Philly,” Rose said about West. “I was a golddigger; apparently he had to take 30 showers after being with me. That’s what he said. I get that just washed all my sexy bald-headedness off of his ass.”
Among those on hand for the “Slut Walk” was Rose’s mother, who Voiced her own thoughts on West’s comment as she displayed an obvious reference to it with a sign that read, “F*ck yo 30 showers!”
Regarding her marriage to Khalifa, Rose reminisced over feelings of the Pittsburgh rapper being a “ball of love” at the height of their relationship. Despite being on better terms and that they “still love each other” in spite of their split, Rose became emotional while referencing Khalifa’s lyrics about her past as a stripper on Juicy J’s song, “For Everybody.”
“In the midst of being hurt – if anyone had been going through a separation, or have ever been divorced, you know there’s a lot of feelings involved and it’s a very difficult time,” a tearful Rose explained. “He went on to make a song saying that he ‘fell in love with a stripper, but fell out of love quicker.’ As you can imagine, him being the love of my life, regardless if we’re going through a separation or not, that was extremely hurtful.”
As she continued speaking, Rose publicly forgave Khalifa and West for their comments and revealed that she did receive an apology from Khalifa.
“I want to forgive Kanye for what he said about me. I want to let all that negativity go. I also forgive Wiz for what he said. Wiz actually apologized to me already, so I have forgiven him,” Rose aid while encourage her audience follow her lead. I suggest that you guys do the same, and I’ll tell you why: because they’re ignorant at times. People are ignorant, and you have to be the bigger person, and be the positive person to forgive and move on and help other people around you that have been through the same thing.”
